Jung Woo tends to make his personal way in new Mental Coach Jegal teaser
by missvictrix

All it requires is a wacky teaser to get my drama radar up, and tvN’s upcoming drama Mental Coach Jegal (previously Mental Coach Je Gal-gil) does just that. Promotion for the healing sports drama is in complete swing, with the premiere a month away, and a desperate need to have in dramaland for anything funny and uplifting.
The standard story is that our hero Jung Woo (Mad for Every Other) — the eponymous Je Gal-gil — was after a national taekwondo athlete. Now, just after a fall from grace, he is presented the position of a mental coach for other struggling athletes. The new press stills show Gal-gil each in his athlete glory and later as a seemingly thriving coach. I’m not positive regardless of whether we’ll see his initial fall from grace (and the national group) genuine-time or by means of flashback, but either way it sounds like the most effective components of Mad for Every Other in an completely new setting.
The story’s heroine is played by Lee Yumi (All of Us Are Dead), who plays ice princess and quick track gold medalist Cha Ga-eul. But she winds up needing coaching by means of a rough spot in her life/profession, and that appears like the point exactly where our characters intersect. And, offering there is not a romance shoe-horned in right here in between the two (do not even assume about it, Show!), this has all the markings of a great platonic and healing partnership.

In the new teaser, we see Jung Woo carrying out what he does most effective: becoming lovable and hilarious. Seriously, you cannot watch this and not enjoy him. The idea is straightforward adequate. His character hobbles more than to a fence that is got a huge NO ENTRY sign on it, with some added scribble that there’s no road ahead. But our hero does not accept that, and attacks the fence (hilariously), therefore generating his personal path. It is a entertaining intersection of physical comedy and metaphor, for the reason that that is what the theme of the drama promises to be. The text screens in the teaser match the tagline on the most recent poster: “I pick out the pace and path of my personal life.” I assume I enjoy this show currently!
Written by Kim Ban-di (Particular Labor Inspector Jo, Angry Mom) and directed by Sohn Jung-hyun (Really should We Kiss Initial), the drama has fixed a premiere date for September 12, in tvN’s Monday-Tuesday slot.
