Hyperlink: Consume, Enjoy, Kill: Episodes 15-16 (Final)
In the finale week, our leads ultimately face off with the man who took so a lot from them, and the neighborhood comes to grips with the truth about one particular of their personal. It is a strong ending that ties up the loose ends and offers some closure to the previous, but also leaves a lot of time to discover exactly where this leaves every person as they figure out how to move forward.
EPISODES 15-16 WEECAP
Just after all he’s discovered about what occurred to his sister, Gye-hoon is back to self-blame. He struggles to cope and this time, he’s the one particular to recommend to Da-hyun they must break up. Da-hyun can see how a lot he’s struggling and agrees. I guess they are breaking up for true.
But their hyperlink is adding an added challenge to their breakup due to the fact they can nonetheless really feel every other’s feelings all the time. Attempt as he may, Gye-hoon cannot ignore the pang of worry he feels from Da-hyun when she runs into Young-hoon.
Young-hoon is nonetheless feeling her out to see if she remembers him – this time, she does. Da-hyun tries to act commonly and politely declines his give to give her a ride residence, but she nonetheless arouses his suspicion. Da-hyun ends up operating from Young-hoon who chases her down side streets.
She tries to get support from a nearby shop owner, but Young-hoon knocks the old man out. In common hero style, Gye-hoon arrives just as Young-hoon is attacking Da-hyun. He and Da-hyun struggle to take Young-hoon down, but Gye-hoon does sooner or later handle to strangle him unconscious just before the police arrive.
In the scuffle, although, Da-hyun was stabbed. The entire incident ultimately unlocks the rest of Da-hyun’s memory, and anything clicks into spot for her. When they have been held captive, Gye-young had told Da-hyun about the hyperlink she shared with Gye-hoon. She’d began crying and knew the tears have been Gye-hoon’s.
Gye-young asked Da-hyun to pass her twin a message in case she didn’t make it out: “Oppa, you have to bear in mind it is not your fault. It is genuinely not your fault, so guarantee you will quit crying.” Da-hyun now realizes this is why she and Gye-hoon are linked. Positive sufficient, as soon as Da-hyun passes on Gye-young’s message as she’s rushed to the hospital, the hyperlink disappears.
I’m glad we got some explanation for the hyperlink due to the fact I wasn’t positive whether or not it’d fall by the wayside. I assume it is superior they went with an emotional explanation rather than a logical one particular. I do not assume there’s a way to clarify it logically that wouldn’t fall apart beneath scrutiny.
I had a feeling it had a thing to do with Gye-young that evening, but it was sweet that it was born of her be concerned that Gye-hoon would blame himself for anything. She knew him properly. Just after all this time, the particular person who ultimately comforted and freed Gye-hoon was Gye-young.
Young-hoon turns out to be a really ineffective serial killer due to the fact none of his 3 targets died. Da-hyun has to undergo minor surgery for the side wound, but she’s fine. Gye-hoon got a small banged up but had no significant injuries. Even Jung-ho survived his ordeal intact.
Possibly one particular of the most surprising turn of events is that Chief Seo in fact participated in catching Young-hoon. Just after Min-jo intercedes and convinces him to let the previous go, he and Won-tak sort of make up. Chief Seo promises to apologize and quit the force as soon as Won-tak finds the true culprit. It appears he’s capable of admitting he created a error soon after all.
Chief Seo even manages to deliver the missing piece in identifying Young-hoon. Won-tak knew Jin-geun had met with a man that evening he named Gye-hoon, but he cannot discover the man on CCTV. Chief Seo pipes up that he saw Jin-geun speaking to Young-hoon that evening. Appear at him becoming all useful.
Just after Young-hoon’s arrest, it is a time of new begins as Won-tak starts reconciling with his dad, Gye-hoon is sincere with his mom about his father’s most likely death, and we get some partnership shakeups. Won-tak and Min-jo, no surprise, rekindle their partnership. Keep in mind that abused lady who wanted Bok-hee and halmeoni to kill her husband? With them as backup, she demands a divorce. Even Eun-jung and Jin-hoo look poised to date.
Meanwhile, Gye-hoon leaves town and requires some time to method. He returns a month later, getting sorted out his thoughts. He realizes he nonetheless desires to be with Da-hyun, in spite of the trauma that hyperlinks them. Da-hyun is miffed he was MIA for a month, but quickly requires him back.
Now that they’re no longer linked, they’ve lost their rapidly pass to reading every other. They commit time acquiring to know every other anew, studying to connect the standard way.
Drumroll please… Gye-hoon Lastly opens his and Jin-hoo’s restaurant. What a saga that was. He and Jin-hoo packed up and left – can you close a restaurant just before it even opens? – only to come back a month or so later. It does very properly, which tends to make sense due to the fact Gye-hoon is a renowned chef (a reality I entirely forgot).
Even though Young-hoon is behind bars, Gye-hoon nonetheless does not have closure offered that they haven’t discovered his father’s or sister’s bodies. Jung-ho requires it upon himself to get Young-hoon to speak, and it performs – he offers him a hint that the bodies are in their hometown. It requires some time and excavation, but they handle to discover the bodies.
Gye-hoon and his mother are ultimately in a position to mourn and definitely reside. She even apologizes to him for leaving him to raise himself. Now, Gye-hoon is a lot lighter and far more open with these about him. The entire neighborhood appears lighter, in reality. We finish the series on Gye-hoon and Da-hyun sharing a pleased moment collectively as they continue to help every other and move forward collectively.
This was an unexpected drama, for me. The ride may perhaps have been a small bumpy at occasions, but I genuinely enjoyed it. The balance could’ve been a bit superior, but it managed to integrate its darkness and comedy reasonably properly. These serial-killer romances (did I Can Hear Your Voice start out this bizarre trend?) can quickly devolve into a convoluted mess, but that didn’t occur right here.
The mystery was simple but not apparent, offered all the neighbors have been so suspicious that the killer could’ve been virtually any one. And I appreciated that the residents weren’t suspicious for no explanation several of them did play a function in what occurred.
That stated, I do assume the drama attempted to do also a lot. We had Jin-geun, then the Gye-young mystery, and then Gye-hoon’s dad’s disappearance that I kept forgetting about. A small far more concentrate wouldn’t have hurt. But somehow, the chaotic vibe sort of worked with our characters and globe.
Da-hyun and her loved ones have been a trip, and their chaotic antics have been a highlight for me. Somehow it created it even superior that halmeoni was Bok-hee’s former mother-in-law who just decided to turn out to be a mother to her when she and Da-hyun required her. I loved this intergenerational female bonding.
But Gye-hoon was the character who tugged most at my heartstrings. He was the common tortured hero with a previous, except he wasn’t a jerk. (I really like dramaland’s move toward nicer heroes.) Yeo Jin-gu played Gye-hoon with a lot of restraint, the repressed feelings often visible beneath the surface. Each Gye-hoon and Da-hyun have been simple to root for, and when I do not know that staying in that traumatic neighborhood was the ideal choice, I’m glad they’ll have a robust help program as they discover their way.
